Well, I blog, you decide. You could read the comments and remarks by IR but I think the posted picture samples and crops are self-explanatory by themselves.

Conclusion, the 645D is still ahead.

645D iz a class for itself. Even at ISO 1600 it showz heapz more detailz than A7.
But in any case, IR testz with thoze bottlez are boring. Normal people take different picturez in real life, that even poor performing Sony A7 can make looking worthwhile, especially scaled down for web galleriez.
Normal people do not replace "s" with "z".
The 5D Mark is just insanely a toy, D800e is poor too ...
How can your take a jpeg shootout seriously?

If your wondering when you'll get the Pentax K-3 Premium Siver Edition DSLR you pre-ordered, B&H New York, NY in the U. S. A. just shipped mine (for free) yesterday and it's out for delivery today in Boston, MA U. S. A. I think it was a great move on Ricoh's part to launch the camera instead of useing it to pick-up sales.
I don't care much for tests where the cameras have made differant adjustments on their own (ie. blur, noise, saturation, moire) but it's nice to use as part of our comparison of in-camera JPEG processing so I thank you for that, but when I spend over $1000 let alone $2000 I like to compare RAW files with 14 bit color depth and the same settings/modifications (like you useually post) more of a test of hardware than automation.
As for the authors idea of throwing a medium format camera in the mix (I'ts not intended to be fully automated), he's using pretzel logic to prove his opinion while leaving out cameras that fit in your coat pocket.

Dear Mr.Johnson, may I ask you my question once more (I asked it before in one of the previous topic): when you will test your new Pentax K-3 Premium Silver Edition DSLR - could you please tell us: are there any noticeable improvements in the new Digital Camera Utility 5.0 (S-SW140) compare to the previous version of PDCU 4.40/4.41?
Thank you.
Faulty comparative as I can see between them that they are not focused on the same point on each picture. Or maybe BF or FF on some of them.

Wow, another Pentax win. (up to 1600 of course). Now to wait for pentax to put this sensor in a smaller cheaper body.

Guess that would not make ANY technological sense. The 645-line will probably retain its mirror-box as long as these BIG sensors are yet unpractical or incapable of live-view ( think energy consumption, heat-buildup, DSP-loop )
And then: one of the stand-out "features" of the 645D - which it already got much praise for - is its big, uncluttered and - as far as I'v read - great to look-into viewfinder. That for some might be even more important that its one frame per second speed. Oh: and don't forget about all the really pricy legacy glass that still works.

"Horses for courses", I guess?

PS.: the 20-40mm f/2.8_f/4 limited DC WR has landed!
I still cannot believe they actually ask for the best part of 900€ ( 285grams makes this so sexy yet soooo expensive!)

Just believe. The price in the USA is 999.95USD. ;-)
$9000 645D vs $2000 A7R?

Price, size, and image quality difference?

A7R is a clear winner

ha ha ha pay "only" $2000 for a toy like the A7R without a viewfinder, seriously ...
$2000 that dollar for dollar per image quality blows the crap out of $9000 645D!
So buy an iphone to take photos, it's the best ! The 645D can't be compared to a A7R, it's completly another world.
Strawman. IPhone image quality is not comparable to A7R, but A7R's image quality is comparable to 645D. A7R scores higher on dxomark than 645D(IPhone does not)/ A7R studio images are sharper than 645D. IPhone's are not. .
wrong, the man behind the lens takes the photo. The IPhone's sensor image quality is already ok for that.
EVF is not a viewfinder?
Lens is a factor. All lenses of P 645 lenses can get maximum output from 645D. For A7R, like D800E, choices are limited. Entry and middle class level lenses cannot squeeze out the last drop of quality from the sensor. But this depends on the coming lenses for A7R.

Be honest the 645d is a 5 year old camera with a CCD in. Why did you not compare the 645z to it. the pentax 645d sell for $4500US....
