Ricoh Imaging Business Strategy Update (March 15)

Ricoh Imaging Japan gave a briefing about their latest business strategy on cameras and products on March 15. The following presentation screenshot refers:

All in all, the interchangeable lens business will be "re-launched" whilst the 360 business will fade out. Ricoh will focus more in industrial / professional optical and related products and components in more areas such as those in the automation and innovative technology areas.

Nonetheless, it would be interesting to see how they could "re-launch" the Pentax lineups, actually I would say *revive* instead, IMHO.

The presentation was on the 3rd of March, as indicated on the slide, not on the 15th.

It's the Vecnos business that's terminated, not the whole 360° camera business. Theta will remain.

"The Vecnos business suffered from the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused travel opportunities to plummet. This situation forced a major review of that business, resulting in a decision to shut it down."

More important to us Pentaxians, according to this document the use of digital communications to connect directly with customers and the workshop approach to production are a global strategy , not an approach limited to Japan.
Quoting from the presentation text:

"As we recently announced, we made a fresh start for our camera business by consolidating it within Ricoh Imaging. We will make the brand more valuable by using digital communications to connect directly with customers and by taking a workshop approach to production."
I have bought almost all the latest Pentax new stuff online globally in recent years since the pandemic. But I am worried about if those online shops will abort to sell Pentax gear after this new arrangement. :-(
