50MP Canon FF DSLR is Coming

From reliable source which has never been wrong!

http://digicame-info.com/2015/01/eos-5ds-eos-5ds-r.html

In Japanese, Google English translation here.

So, the 645Z is not unique again, and the upcoming 5Ds should be much cheaper, at half of the 645Z price very probably, but yet provides the same pixel count, and is a much faster camera of which the system has far more lens choices and much better portability.

New Pentax K-s1

Source: Japanese Digicame Info

Utter ugly, silly and toyish look! It's indeed a stupid design for this appearance!! OMG!!! >:(

Update: This new body will be small, comparable to the Canon EOS100D, but not considerably smaller. Look:

The New Q is Named the Q-S1

http://digicame-info.com/2014/07/qq-s1.html
(in Japanese)

Probably, this is just a Q7 with an original Q shell in a different painted dress, i.e., a 1/1.7" sensor inside. As an original Q user, I am sure that I will not buy one. The colour game of Pentax and Ricoh is just a history for me and I am sure I shall not buy a new Pentax camera anymore for the sake of its colour and appearance, unless Ricoh yet produces something real in the future, which they have not done that for long! >:(

Nikon Retro-Style Full Frame DSLR is Coming

See what Nikon Rumors have disclosed:

http://nikonrumors.com/2013/10/20/breaking-new-nikon-full-frame-hybrid-mirrorless-camera-coming-soon.aspx/

With brief rumoured specs as follows:

- Nikon FM2 like design

- Pentaxprism viewfinder

- 16.2MP 36x23,9 full frame sensor (same sensor as the D4's)

- SD memory card

- 2016-pixel RGB image sensor

- 9-cell framing grid display

- 3D color matrix metering II

- Native ISO range: 100-12,800 (incl. ISO 50 and ISO 108,200)

- 5.5 fps for up to 100 shots

- 3.2" LCD screen

- Battery:EN-EL14

- Dimensions: 143.5 x 110 x 66.5mm

- Weight: 765g

- It will come with a new AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G lens

Well, while this must be a really good camera I have to say, I am rather disappointed this idea was not first adopted by Pentax instead, which I made such a proposition back to 2008, for a retro-type DSLR of K1000D.

The A Mount Seems to be Aborted, Will K Mount (Ricoh) Follow?

See what Sony Alpha Rumors report lately:

(SR5) First image of the new ILC-3000 (A3000 in Japan). 230K LCD and 1,44 Million dot EVF.

So, possibly this will soon mark the end of the A-mount lens line as there will be no more new A-mount body. For all those excellent Minolta A-mount lenses, the old users must use them via an adaptor and Sony will be a mirrorless brand from now on.

After all, will the Pentax K-mount get the same fate? There was a rumour about this before. In view of Ricoh has done no development of any on the K-mount lenses during these two years something, that might be possibly true, or if not Pentax the brand is to be trashed.

World's First 135 Full Frame Mirrorless is Coming!

By this October!

http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sr4-nex-ff-only-15-bigger-than-the-nex-7-available-in-october/

Note that it is of SR4 probability which means that it is likely to happen!

How is Pentax then? Where is Pentax? What "hi-end" thing that they are actually still working on??! >:-o

Sony Likely to Buy Olympus in 50 Billion Yens

See what Reuters reports:-

http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/09/14/sony-olympus-idUSL3E8KE33C20120914

They would possibly spend 50 Billion Japanese Yens, i.e., 646 Million US Dollars, to buy for a stake.

Via 1001 Noisy Cameras.

By the way, it seems that Sony is more than ambitious to control the whole digital camera industry. If this acquisition comes true, Sony has almost controlled most of the mirrorless market, for both the 4/3 and NEX. And then actually they have virtually full control on Nikon via the supplies of sensors for their cameras. The only enemy left is just Canon but it also seems that this enemy would be beaten in the future!

Let's see what will happen for the years to come! Reality is really cruel and competition is always fierce. Only the strongest will survive. That's still the law of nature.

Possibly Upcoming New Cameras and Pre-Photokina Leaks: K-3, GRD5, A85, X-Pro2, 3DX, 6D..!

The great Chinese online camera-gear shopping database (somehow shared) has shown all those possibly upcoming new cameras! I've chosen the very popular Chinese gadget website of PCHome.net to show them, which has an Alexa ranking of 359 as at today! For instance, the following are sorted by brand and then sorted by the "latest":-

Once Verified: Pentax K-3 is 24MP APS-C, Not FF

http://detail.zol.com.cn/ProductComp_param_300739-322486-332160-333580.html

(in Chinese, Google English Translation Here)

This is a prestigious Chinese camera gear site which has a good past track record in accurately disclosing many early information. They have even maintained updated full lists on Chinese merchants who accept pre-ordering of the latest but not-yet-announced bodies like Nikon D600, Sony A99 and NEX-6. Btw, no merchant is yet listed for the Pentax K-3 but the body has already been added to their database. Anyway and once again, just believe it or not! It's all up to you! ;-)

Sony is to Roll Out FF NEX

See: http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sr5-sony-nex-goes-full-frame/

But considering the really limited lens lineup of the original E-mount lenses, not even to mention FF, what's the point?

The most ridiculous thing, on the other hand in the Pentaxland, is that there are so many old original K-mount lenses out there but there is not a FF Pentax body!

So, if old Pentaxians are to get the new NEX, must they go down the "adapting" route?

My previous examples:-

New Sony APS-C Sensor (16MP, PMAF Elements Built-in)

Via Sony Alpha Rumors (SR5)

So, with this new sensor, I am almost sure that new Pentax APS-C camera models will come, say, K-02, K-40 and whatever! :-D

If the D600 Can Only Come This Fall, When Will the Pentax FF Come?

Ken Rockwell "forecasts" that the D600 would appear only by late 2012. But if the previous rumour of that the Pentax FF could only come as fast as 6 months later than the Nikon is true, when shall we see a Pentax FF camera? Late 2013?! (Taking into account that things like that often subject to delay, especially for the Pentax!) >:-(

D600 is Really Coming, Pentax?

http://forum.xitek.com/thread-1022917-1-1-2.html
(in Chinese)

It is said that the pictures were leaked from Nikon's Thailand factory but most importantly they look real! Btw, the D600 seems to be more compact than all other existing Full Frame bodies and all people have been saying that it will be sold cheap. So, I think Pentax is really doom this time, or at least I would say the 135 K-mount will become useless sooner or later and many Pentaxians have migrated just because the lack of a Full Frame body in the Pentax land, especially for those long-time old loyal supporters! >:-(

Hey, Pentax, are you still too busy in working with some new f/6.7 to f/7.1 zoom lenses in K-mount such that there is still no Full Frame body of any as no research nor resource of any is put into that? :-o

Leaked Photos of 5Dlll, BG-E11 and 600EX Flash!

Via: http://forum.xitek.com/thread-976806-1-1-1.html

(in Chinese)

Btw, for what I've measured on screen, the size of the 5D3 is exactly the same as that of 5D2, although the appearances of the two cameras are a bit different.

The Long Awaited Canon 5D3 FF is Coming, Very Soon!

As confirmed in the last official interview with the Pentax head, Pentax is not going to give us any Full Frame body in the foreseeable future. :-o

Today, it is leaked that the Canon 5D3 is actually around the corner! It might be announced on March 2nd, very soon!

http://www.canonrumors.com/2012/02/more-5d-mark-iii-images/

Well, the pictures look quite real to me. My new "affordable" FF dream could finally be completed, unfortunately not in the Pentaxland, since it only arrives at Canon's! :-(

Btw, the Canon EF-mount system is the only viable DSLR system that could adapt Pentax film lenses with infinity focusing but without any major mount surgery required (and it is reversible for the temporary removal of the aperture coupler of the lenses).

D800 in 36MPs is Really Around the Corner! Who Said FF DSLRs are Dying?

This break-the-rumour but yet rumour report is in a firm tone, cited source of information is being the French CDI magazine!

http://www.photographydailynews.com/2012/02/nikon-d800-breaking-news/

So, what we have is the ever highest pixel count 135 DSLR in FF, ISO up to 25600, packed in a magnesium alloy body, with a built-in flash (which Canon never gave us for their FF models!), 1080p/30 frames Full HD video, 100% FF optical viewfinder, up to 6 fps in 36MP(!) with battery grip, to be sold for a suggested retail price of under 3,000 Euro..!

Once again, I think this report is true, it coincides with other more sensible rumours. For example, this one tells the same set of specs and it shows a copy of invitation card from Nikon Thailand and it is also cited for the source of information, for a professional guy who regularly posts at the Sina mini-Blog with his net nickname..

http://forum.xitek.com/thread-965910-1-1-1.html
(in Chinese)

After all, who said that Full Frame DSLRs are dying and EVIL (ILDC) cameras should be the future? I bet the D800 is going to be stronger and it will write a new page for the history of photographic gear! Frankly, I think that even the IQ of the 645D is endangered, for just 1/3 of the price we've got nearly the same pixel count and much the same IQ but far more features and most importantly better portability and the ever strong machine power, I believe.

Btw, what will Canon respond? Well, my Canon L and prime lenses are still collecting dust for waiting a better Full Frame body in "affordable" price! :-(

As for Pentax's current situation, there would be quite probably no FF in the meantime (no matter DSLR or ILDC). But I think the D800 sets out a good thing, that is, there is still new 135 FF sensor being newly designed and supplied (possibly by Sony?). That means that either Pentax could use the new sensor, or at least the price of the older sensors of the last generations could be reduced, if they have not yet been discontinued.

Fuji X-Series Lens Roadmap 2012-2013

http://www.pdnonline.com/pdn/gear/CES-PMA-2012-Fujifi-4404.shtml

via Jimmy Yen's Blog (Chinese)

So, the lenses to be offered in X-mount are:-

2012
• 14mm (21mm equivalent) super wide
• 18-72mm f/4 (27-108mm equivalent) image stabilized zoom

2013
• 23mm f/2 (34mm equivalent) wide
• 28mm f/2.8 pancake design (42mm equivalent) normal
• 12-24mm f/4 (18-36mm equivalent) image stabilized zoom
• 70-200mm f/4 (105-300mm equivalent) image stabilized zoom

Seems to be quite nice for the lineup and I do like much the focal lengths of the two primes in 23mm and 28mm which are my favourite AoV in 35mm and 43mm of 135 film equivalent, which both Pentax lacks in the current DA lens line.

My Idea of the K1000D Finally Adopted by Someone!

Years ago, I proposed a K1000D. Finally, we'll have this very soon:-

Via Photo Rumors.

Glad that finally at least one camera maker has some close mentality as me! :-D However really sad that she is NOT Pentax! :-(

And, if the rumoured info is going to be true, the 5-axis body-based image stabilisation system will overshade the Pentax SR's 3 axis one which has been highly praised by some Pentaxians on its theoretical uniqueness.

Whilst this retro-designed and lightweight plus compact body was really what I wanted, the OM-D actually deviates one important thing from my original basic idea of the marketing approach, i.e., it will not be cheap anyway, my bet! :-o

Lastly, as basically I am also a m-4/3 user with minimal setup (which I rarely used since purchased), I might be interested on the OM-D and may buy it later depends on what it will be priced and how it will perform in real. Let's see! (Also, with my first DC was being an Oly, I think I do have some little sentiment on the brand, too! ;-p)

N.B. Since the source of the picture is being unknown, do bear in mind that it *may* be fake!
