New Olympus Patent for a Reflective Image Sensor (to do Phase-detect AF and make the OVF)
http://egami.blog.so-net.ne.jp/2011-11-09
(in Japanese, Google-translated English Page Here)
The principle is to make the sensor reflective so that a portion of the light is reflective upward to the phase-detection AF module and then to the OVF (which is switchable to an EVF as desired). This patent is interesting enough and can overcome the two utmost shortcomings of the current ILDC design. But however, I still have doubts about if IQ would be affected, and even more so if Olympus can survive and pass through the current big crisis of their gate case! :-o
