Various K-30 First Tests

1. First of all, the Chinese Engadget the PhotoBlographer have reviewed the K30 hands on:-

(in Chinese)

(with resized samples)

2. Next, here is the IR who always gave you the ISO measurbations:-

If you don't want to see ISO samples, here are the real world ones in Full Size!

3. Next Next, the PhoBlographer has also done a pour test under the tap and at the sink:-

Well, I think the K-30 is not the only camera that can be abused like that in a short period of time, someone else actually had done something similar on the K-5 previously (but yet almost no body noticed):-

Btw, if any user really wanted to have a waterproof camera, why not just get an Optio WG or to use an underwater housing? :-o

Enjoy after all!~

To my eyes, the images from the K30 and k5 look almost identical
I always thought I would by the next Pentax flagship, or buy the K-5 on closeout, but geesh, is that K-30 not impressive for the price. Modest details, like no mic input, make me think, but I am not sure I would use it much anyway
It's lacking as a video tool, but hey, it's a still camera after all :).

Now in that department, I don't think any other model comes close at that price point.

I think the only thing really missing is the grip.

I heartily agree - missing a grip ! Much rather get a K5 as the price has come down under $900.

This assuming that the focusing on the K30 is not substantially better than the K5.

How come this isn't much buzz on the new AF system ? To me that is the most exciting thing about the K30 - it sounds like a 3d focus tracking system.

I wanna read about AF speed. Much faster?
If its 10% faster, i won't care
K-30 will be great, something to make you think between the k-5 or k-30

Thanks for adding my K-5 video :D
I think that is always the case: deciding between a lower spec'd, higher tech new model with higher spec'd lower tech old one :-)

As for AF, even the K-r is fast enough. It's accuracy in my case that's more important.
