"New" K-mount Lens Roadmap "Updated" and Published

http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/japan/products/lens/images/K_Mount_Lens.pdf

Compared with the last one and the last last one, what is "new" actually? :-o

And, "2013 or Later"? 2013 has only three more months to go! And in 2046 which still means "Later"!

Maybe each year Ricoh could change the coating name from SMC to HD for some lenses and also the colours of some existing Pentax lenses can be changed (if not yet) and after twenty years they can still have their roadmap and lineup got updated each year, annually! What a GREAT PLAN and brilliant idea !! >:-{

I personally glad that Ricoh had updated Lens Roadmap. Actually yesterday after the announcement I had had a look on it, and it was still old Roadmap. Not to mention how I was disappointed. But today - great news, they had updated. Looks like they are sort of care about customers.

"2013 or Later" means that they will announce new products before Catholic Christmas

The lens roadmap is as a lens roadmap. Nothing special. No subject to discuss.

At least, we are sure that the K mount will not die ;-)
120 - 380 with f/4 and good quality wide open is something I will buy.

The absence of any real news in the k-mount lens roadmap is a real disappointment. :-(

However, I still have some hope that the IFA will bring some better news... :-|
There are news in the K-mount lens roadmap: the former "DA* Zoom" (kind of 16-80mm) has become a plain and boring DA Zoom.
Little disappotiment. I was looking forward for some DA* 18-85 zoom.
Although I don't mind this new DA Ltds update because it reminds people about the unique value of those lenses, I also agree with Mike Johnston who wrote yesterday that announcement was just a manufactured press event for basically nothing new.
The rhetorics of the presentation sounds like a gargantuan effort and an incredible superhuman achievement in a technology from another world ... which I personally don't take at a face value. So far, Ricoh asks for a big applause for nothing.
Thus I'm carefully listening the drumroll for the 2013 and pay no attention to the roadmap; even this unannounced DA Ltd update shows that roadmap is of no other use but not tell the truth to users, play on people's expectations and keep the fools in check. If the roadmap indeed shows that what's hidden, then guys, prepare yourself for DA* lens lineup revamp, which means, new coating and brand new prices too.
Couldn't agree more with you Rice.....when you write....what is "new" actually?

By this time I also was hoping for like some here already had mention......the 16-80 DA WR lens
My opinion:
We need DA 400/5,6.
Price should be a litlle cheaper than 400/5,6 L USM in Canon.

It is not produced now by others: Sigma, Tamron, Nikon, Tokina...
Only Canon has it.
We have 560mm but it is expensive...

K5 II and DA 400/5.6 will be best set for photos of nature, animals...
Best Regards

Hey, at least this blog isn't delusional. I just got back from PF and on their front page someone is GLAD they raised the prices. Unbelievable. Keep up the good work RH. We'll be celebrating with you if they ever bring the full frame camera. Which seems like never BTW.

RH will celebrate Pentax launching a FF camera by another one of his Pentax-bashing frenzies. Because that's his work: to hate Pentax.
After then, you will start your bash-the-basher job endlessly!
Sony is about to release a camera that will AF Pentax, Canon, Nikon (and all kinds of other lenses). THe trick will be done by shifting sensor!

September, October, November, December. Lots of accurate information in this blog.

No problem, one month is nothing for Ricoh, admit it or not. We have given them two years, what they have done is only to try their very best to remove the name Pentax, whatever and wherever it might appear!
You can't count, you can't see (i.e. the name Pentax clearly written on those lenses)... you can only hate.
As a blind fanboy, you can't see the name (metal) plate is removed also!
Obviously, I can see the new labeling system because I'm not the blind one; OTOH you're talking about the "removal" of the name Pentax, giving products clearly labeled Pentax as example.

BTW, I see you're unable to accept even this little silly counting mistake, and simply correct it. Your answer should've been "thanks, I'll fix that"; instead, it's more Pentax-hating vitriol.
