Well, it says that it is under construction, but particular clever Pentaxians did have discovered their existence and links!
There are eight downsized photos, in 1743 x 1306 pixels only, uploaded at the following links:-
http://www.camera-pentax.jp/645d/photo/0X.jpg, where X = 1 to 8
There is no EXIF data of any contained in the downsized photos, though.
I have linked directly to the original "large" pictures with my above thumbnails, just click on any of the thumbnails above will download the larger image, a new tab/window will be opened.
For the samples, I've found that the resolution and dynamic range are good, the 3d feel is superb! But however, I am totally not impressed with the colour response and skin tone(s) as shown, which is just not my cup of tea anyway! :-(

But, it's still too early-too soon to make any conclusions and subjective color/processing can be endlessly adjusted anyway. Where is that Lotto booth again??.. :o)

For that price of the 645D, I think Nikon's D3X 135 Full Frame plus a luxury standard lens is already very good!

The difference gets a little bigger if you have a card from Yodobashi (you need to be resident in Japan), you get 10% bonus points on the 645D and 14% on the D3x. So you end up with the following prices with current exchange rates:
645D: USD 8422
D3x: USD 7896
So, if you compare in the same shop in the market where you actually can order the 645D, AND you're able to use the yodobashi card, the difference is still less than 600 $.
But...It's not correct comparision. Different niches. And 40 MP (even 44*33 mm) is always sharper and has better IQ than FF 24.5 MP.

Do note that using point cards to purchase in the Japanese big camera shops are not getting discount in real money. You need to use the 10% earned points (or 8% if you use credit card, 10% is for paying cash only) to purchase other goods and items at the same shop. In contrast, if you use credit card to purchase, actually you can get one-off 5% discount any time and you need not to find any other additional goods to purchase.

But if you want to find the cheapest 645D among the shops, you may as well consider this website :

BTW, can someone explain to me why DSLRs photos look generally very "flat" when compared to film or slide photos, even if taken with a very normal Pentax Super-A?

It seems to me that this is not a largely debated topic among DSLR photographers... Am I the only one complaining about it? In general, when comparing photos even coming from very expensive DSLRs (not FF) with film/slide pictures, the first ones look so flat... especially when printed (professional print, press). I noticed this in both macros and landscapes. On the other hand, on computer screens the difference is generally less marked.
To your knowledge, are there extensive discussions around about this DSLR flaw?
