Enjoy the new measurbation tool by DPR! Life-long measurbating! Okay, it's your take now, I'd go watch TV for a while now and then take a bath afterwards and then sleep! ;-D See you later~

It did not take for me "life-long". K-5 seems marginally better than D7000 and Canon 60D is better (also marginally) than both Pentax and Nikon. Overall, K-5 satisfies.
Wow!!!! after these tests I'll no doubt be selling my 5D to get a K-5 instead!!!!!
I would have to say, looking at the 3200 test, it is tough to choose which camera does better - the Canon or the Pentax. If you zoom in at 200 percent, the K5 is superior handling items like the playing card, but the Canon seems to have an edge with the words, although the Pentax is close.

I was surprised, noise reduction or not, the D7000 is really poor in comparison at 3200.

Again, same thing at 100 - the K5 is close with the 60D.....Again, the D7000 seems to fall behind.
K5 looks very good in raw. Jpeg is jaggedy, but detail in raw is very good at high iso. Best of of the 4.
K-5 just ordered. Now the waiting is the hardest part

I would prefer that some day camera comparisons should be made using the same lens (using an adapter and a manual lens) , we would then eliminate the lens' influence on the cameras' measurebations...

true ! I suggest using good medium format lens on an adapter (they are avaliable for every mount) - this way u can test all of them using the same lens and a good lens ! :)
Resolution wise I am almost sure that it is just not a great idea of doing so!
i dont think using lets say latest pentax DFA645 55mm limit resolution or any other newly designed MF lens

RH, we don't want to compare lenses, we want to compare cameras , if we consider that the cameras' sensors have more or less the same size, you could very well use the best manual lens and concentrate on the cameras' performance...? how else can you assure that different lenses wont interfere while measurbating different cameras...? at least you keep one parameter constant.
Don't forget K-5 is twice overexposed than D7000.

f9 1/25 (K-5)
f9 1/50 (d7000)
I was suprised to see how good the K-7 (changed the 50D) is in the lower iso settings - both color and sharpness are better!
As far as vid is concerned: don't hesitate to buy a Panasonic GH2 which has the best vid Q of them all: very sharp, good colors, 60ifps and cheap! cons: 2x cropfactor and no fast ultrawideangle lens yet!
Dwnl. f.i. this and be amazed! http://www.vimeo.com/16497211
