A77 Vs K-5 Vs D300s Vs 7D IQ Shootout

http://www.sheya.net/sheying/xiangji/201109/4838-2.html

(in Chinese, Google English Translation Here)

Note that the test was done with the DA*55/1.4 on the K-5, whilst for other bodies were all with a 50/1.4 "standard" prime of the own brand. Resolution / studio tests for low ISO IQ and higher ISO noise were made and compared.

The test results and pictures are somehow self-explanatory. Btw, fans must be happy this time (me inclusive ;->)!

That editor is an idiot.

The conclusion was: Although the Alpha77 didn;lt win (in any) of the tests, those otehr cameras are old models, if you want the latest, go buy the A77. Wow for moronic review of the day!

He talks about the latest technologies that have been incorporated into the A77 by Sony.. (i.e., not only consider the IQ.)

It confirms the old saying "newer doesn't always mean better".. :o)
IQ of A77 is abit worse than D7000 and K-5 in terms of DR and noise.

But as the reviewer said, the latest features it has and the most updated technologies it adopts are what really attract.
I think you are a technophile Rice.

My personal opinion, latest technology != necessarily the best results. But if you are a gadget fan then I can understand the excitement around new tech.

A77 looks like a great camera, up to 1600 ISO that is... Compare on DP at 6400 ISO with K-5.. :o) Is it 2011 now or 2006?
Interesting how fans can be like. Look. Before you can even assess the image quality of a picture, you have to capture it first. The A77 has some advanced features that allow it to get the picture when others will miss, including for example a very nice continuous fps or advanced auto focus. Get it now?

No? OK, OK. A camera cannot be judged solely on image quality. Coming home empty handed because you missed that moment, or your camera cannot track or focus fast enough, is an important consideration in a camera, isn't it? More important than the little bit of image quality advantage between these cameras, which is like comparing 99% with 97% or 95%, etc because they are all very good. Comparing the result of either having a picture or not having a picture is like 0% to 100%.

Invest 30 seconds of your time and look at DP's (DigitalPreview) 6400 RAW of A77 and K-5. ""99% with 97% or 95%""? Really?

Never mind fans. Think low light concerts, museums, underground caves etc...

I think it isn't correct to compare A77 with older cameras because A77 doesn't have the final firmware.
