Click on the second page of the chart we can see the Pentax Q (White/Prime Kit) is there, at the top!

The sales of the Black Q Kit is not bad, neither. It is positioned at no. 17, just right behind the Sony NEX-C3 standard twin-lens kit in silver, which is also sold at exactly the same price as the Q single prime lens kit.
Congrats, Pentax! I think this is the ever biggest sales and marketing victory of Pentax in these ten years or so! And, a bigger sensor is not needed and the real IQ is of second concern, coz marketing tricks could prevail. Anyway, at a price of JPY 69,800 (~US$7k) let's see if the good sales of the Q will continue and persist.

when you think Pentax has bad marketing, you say so. This time, you would obviously have to say kudos to their marketing, because the Q is a surprise hit - but you degrade the success by calling it "marketing trick". Since when is good work a "trick"?
I am becoming interested in the Q. But since I am building a home now, and the crisis is hitting, my budget is restricted :-(

Let's face it, the Q is a con, pure and simple.
It's designed to con inexperienced users into a small interchangeable system, that has no benefits over a cheaper high-end PnS.
An Olympus XZ1 has a bigger sensor and beats the Q system lenses with a F1.8-2.5 28-112mm zoom, that never needs removing. All at about half the price.
Anyone that buys a Q either has spare money and an enjoyment of new gadgetry, or is simply unaware that they are buying an intrinsically flawed concept.
The new Nikon mirrorless will be of much more interest, as it will effectively be one stop beneath M4/3, which is effectively one stop below APS-C, which is effectively one stop below full frame.
Having said that, congratulations to the Pentax engineers who created the Q. It is very well designed and made, and takes great pictures within the confines of sensor size.

Bought a Pentax Q, got back to the hotel and had an overwhelming, immediate bout of buyer's remorse after looking at some pictures on MacBook Pro. Don't know what I was thinking when I got it...?
Luckily, they took back the kit in exchange for an international version Sony NEX-5N. Feeling a lot better: with the pancake lense on the Sony is not even much bigger than the Pentax Q but the APS-C sensor makes all the difference. The Sony plays in a different league while costing roughly the same...
