K-01 AF Performance Firmware V1.00 Vs V1.01

Assuming the battery power levels were the same, the new firmware does significant improve the AF speed of the K-01. However, the CDAF still need to turn the lens to-and-fro so as to search for the focus but did never know which direction to turn first at the beginning. I believe that if Pentax will be able to get the new Sony sensor with PMAF sensor built-in, e.g., like the one used in the NEX-5R, this search should not be even required in most cases and hence the AF performance could be twice faster! (But provided that if Pentax can get any new sensor! >:-()

I have to say, I am getting pretty pleased with my K-01 purchase. I really cannot wait to see reviews of the K5IIs

1. Entry-level - I think the K-02 should be an entry-level camera, the only one without a viewfinder/pentaprism, and without weather sealing. Should be able to knock a couple hundred off the K-30 price to offer it. To keep the price low, I think they need to figure out a way to have an optional EVF.
2. Video - A slightly different shape that would make it easier to hold would make it a better video camera. An EVF would be needed, or an articulating screen.

Journeying from film SLR's with large optical viewfinders then to digital compacts with tiny LCD screens then to dSLR with only tiny optical viewfinders then to dSLR with both tiny optical viewfinder + live view on 2.7" 230K and including cell phone camera with 4.3", my opinion is that a squinting into even a large viewfinder is less practical than a decent viewfinder.
For the cost and complexity of a large, high resolution EVF, I would rather see K-02 with large (~4") 720p with polarizing filter, anti-glare (HD, err, SMC) coatings and gorilla glass. It's stupid that my imaging device (dSLR) has inferior screen than the TELEPHONE that preceeds it by 2 years!
Don't ask me how to fit such a large screen on APS-c body! The simplest way would be touch-screen, of course. While I appreciate physical buttons ad the argument for them as much as the next guy, I've also learned to live without them on my phones and portable computers (tablets). As long as the body has a physical shutter button and other top buttons and control wheels, I could live without physical buttons for secondary functions, menu and playback.
