New K-01 Firmware! (V1.01)

The K-01 is not completely dead, Pentax has provided a new firmware for it today!

It is said that the AF performance and compatibility with SD cards are improved as well as the new firmware is generally debugged. If you are a K-01 user, just follow the download link in the above page to get and install the new firmware.

Yeah almost twice as fast, hunting is reduced and focus conformation is quicker. No change in face detection auto focus sadly.

Still testing... , till now only one missed shoot (it's dark in Bulgaria right now). Again in low light conditions difficulties to focus at long end of 50-200 kit lens(at 5.6 fully opened), with 40mmXS no such problems!

Sensitivity of LV CDAF is affected by maximum aperture of lens in use, traditional PMAF is not.

CDAF of K-01 with DFA 100 macro is 2 times faster than my K200D with DFA 100 macro.

With DA 35mm 2.4 I managed to get focus lock even in my son's room on a very low light conditions (just like candle light) - impossible with older firmware... K200 at same conditions doesn't make focus lock....Interesting finding

k01 is very tempting for me.
All day i shoot apple juice bottles for promotional photos and most of it in manual mode with lv, k-01 would be great for that

How do we know that they are not just uncrippling this thing so they can dispose of them faster?!
