K-5 Vs K-5IIs High ISO Shootout (800-12800)

http://pentax.briefing-paper.com/1925
(in Japanese)

Test Conditions:-
Manual white balance, Natural custom image, NR Off, FA77 Limited lens used at f/5.6, LV AF, Direct JPEG.

Below is a snapshot of the ISO 3200 comparison pair:-

(Left: K-5, Right: K-5IIs, @ ISO 3200 - Click to Enlarge.)

It is obvious that the colour response of the K-5 is more favourable. The colours produced by the K-5IIs is dull and less pure. As for the details and sharpness, I even found that the above K-5 picture is better! The noise of both cameras are very close and comparable, nonetheless.

A-ha
Boring... Looks like Rice desperately wants to prove to itself something.

ps
No not looks like. Obviously.
I need not to prove anything, the pics speak for themselves and the tests were not done by me.
Nothing is "obvious" - colors might be more or less saturated, it's just an in-camera JPEG tuning. Not for everybody "more saturated" means "better". In fact, it's quite typical opinion between P&S users rather than advanced DSLR users. And better sharpness of the original K-5? You must be blind. Seriously.
K-5 was too contrasty and over saturated esp for skin tones. So I would have to say a more neutral colour is better here.

"Skin" tones? The test figure is actually the same species as these! http://ricehigh.blogspot.com/2012/10/k-5-is-sharp...
"Skin tones" mean "the range of colors similar to those of the human skin", no matter what was photographed.
Who doesn't like K-5IIs could buy K-5II. And the problem is solved. To say honest...No any problem at all...
K-5IIs has more real colours. And sharper.
K-5IIs has better structure of noise, sharper and has natural colours.
