Pentax Won Best Cameras of the Year 2013 for Some Recent Elections

1. http://www.dpreview.com/news/2014/01/02/best-gear-of-2013-the-results-are-in/11

Pentax internet fanboys are in action again! But the poor K-50 and K-500 received nearly no votes at all! :-o But everytime when the fanboys played hard to win a poll but then those Pentax models still won't sell well, what is the real meaning??

It is elected that the K-50 and K-5IIs are the best DSLRs in the entry level and advanced categories.

PF steered traffic to the poll from their homepage. In a strange twist, PF encouraged PF users to create dpreview accounts to vote for the K3. Wonder if same PF users will realize dpreview is better than PF?

And of course, nobody ever did the same in forums/communities of other brands.
Not for Pentax, PF is much better

The biased noobs on PF spread so much disinformation. You think politicians are the the only masters of putting a positive spin on a bad situation. Just disagree with the delirious happy-faced clones on PF and see what happens. PF resembles a wacky religious cult more and more these days. DPR isn't perfect but I would prefer it any day of the week.

Have to agree. I can't stand that PF forum. A bloke who calls himself 'Normhead', got to be the most irritating poster I've ever read on a forum. 'Stop that!, always with the passive aggressive nonsense. Who the f does he think he is? They defend that noisy sensor in the K-3 like their lives depend on it. As soon as anyone mentions full frame or something alternative they pounce like wild animals. Total fanboy schizophrenia.

Naah.. It's not just Pentax fanboys. If you look at the comments, there are plenty Nikon users disappointed that Nikon haven't come out with the D300S replacement. They think the K-3 is closer to the D300S class than the D7100, so they chose accordingly.

Great Rice!!!
You did again.
This triumph couldn´t be achieved without your support. Ricoh should hire you as a Marketing Manager... for life!

But the problem is Ricoh would not keep Pentax the brand for life!
A small but vocal minority hammer nails in to the Pentax coffin at every opportunity. No matter what the owners do. Nothing is seen as good, or indifferent by them only negativity. Is it any wonder the current owners of the brand have decided the best way to promote the product is to put the coffin in the ground and relaunch the it under a new brand?
Are you proud of your self RiceHigh?
No CES news ? Do we have to stay with the K3 for the next 2 years ?
wow ricehigh IS the ricelow right now. so cynical.
no insight reviews and thoughts, just whining like a little girl.
As consolation, (your) Canons wonders, 3 DSLR together, reach 10% less compared to Pentax K-3... ALONE! Very close, ha?
If you think the Pentax K-3 is so good, you can still go to B&H to buy a Premium Silver Edition (now with a lens at no extra charge), but the other article listed the Pentax K-5IIS twice, and for under a grand it sounds like a better DSLR to me, I just wouldn't recommend a brand that refuses to build a FF-DSLR in favor of an easier way of separating your money from you.

Thank you for your advice Dan Johnson. You're obviously not Pop. I think I'm buying a standard K-3 within a couple of months.
Glad to help, maybe one of my post will save you some large coin when the the price becomes more reasonable. When I finally found out the K-5II wasn't much different than the K-5 I already had the K-5 and ordered the K-5IIS. Then I almost did it again because Ricoh prefers to trick people into a purchase. Much like you I'm somewhat locked into buying the Pentax K-mount cameras because so many lenses work on them, I just wouldn't recommend someone else do that.
P. S.
I hope you like my new name, I hear anyone can use it.

Dan Johnson, you can use my name Pop as long as Rice will allow it. I can’t do something about this crazy behavior of yours, Rice can and I’m sure he will stop you someday.

Oh, and another thing. While the K-50 does not beat the D5300, it actually beats the Canon 700D. So, both The enthusiast and Mid-Level DSLRs from Pentax actually beat the Canons.
I think K-50 is very good option for people not going snobism..Why k-50 is not selling?...I think Is because k-30 is very much apropiate to k-50 and making k-50 not worth the upgrade for people in this budget...As i am not owning a k-30 i consider k-50 for my next investment...I had k-5 brand new last year and i felt it overkill for my needs..The only thing i will miss from the new k-5ii, k-3 and k-5iis is low light performance...I really love to get pictures in low light...The price difference is too big between k-5ii/iis and k-50 to worth it..
