Repair a Stuck SDM DIY - An English Guide

After reading my last article about the big discovery of DIY SDM repairing, our Blog reader "sveinmb" has compiled a full repair guide in English, after he successfully repaired a stuck SDM himself, here it is:-

What I have to say is that the guide is clear and appropriately detailed. Nice done, Sveinmb!

Nikon's advice is not to touch the ultrasonic motor / parts, they're probably electrostatic sensitive.

I think no manufacturer will encourage any end-user to repair the device themselves. But since Pentax just can't do it at reasonably lower costs, some users now had resorted to DIY, and most importantly, they succeeded!
I am not sure i would want to bring that screw driver any where near my camera. Best thing is to research and buy something which is troublesome , i have heard also about Pentax but i guess Nikon is not like that. Testfreaks, might be able to help you out with some much necessary reviews to save yourself from applying Homeremedy fixes to your expensive camera. Thanks.
