So does everybody else.. "dude". No need for overpriced Distagon what is sharper only in the center and looses in the corner to P LT's. It's MIJ anyway, not MIG for a long time...
Yes, we all are "dude"s here, otherwise, we should have only one body and one lens! ;-D
As for the strength of the AA filter used in the NEX and K-5, I think Denis' observation is correct. At least last time Klaus of the PhotoZone said the same and he once even wanted to remove the AA filter of his K-5 for the sole sake of measurbation in order to get better results.
Nonetheless, the user can't get the best of both worlds with such a weak AA filter, as moire patterns will appear more easily, whenever and wherever very high spatial frequency objects appear in the frame.
Maybe you have a super-copy of this manual (ZK discontinued) heavy & big (600g & 82mm filter) beast for $1,800 or so, mine went back to the vendor... Enjoy your Distagon MIJ .. "cheap" FA20, DA21 Lt and FA* 24 will do this segment for me just fine.. :o))
FA*24 is not performing well enough on digital, especially at the image corners. The DA21 might be better, but it is slow in speed and needed to be stop down before sharper image is obtained. In particular, the obvious barrel distortion just puts me off.
"FA*24 is not performing well enough on digital" is a myth...because sharpness is NOT everything and the FA*24 renders very nicely...and is very sharp in the center to isolate a subject.
Try to recall the simple shot of a big "butterfly" I sent you some time back regarding of F&B focus in warm light with K-5. The lens was FA*24 at f2 and sharp enough, even you agreed to that.. If it doesn't ring the bell, that's fine too....none of us is getting any younger... :o)
The FA*24 is surely a great lens and it has many favourable characters. However, corner sharpness and resolution on Pentax digitals is really not its strong point, or, it should be weak.
Btw, I think I am still younger than you, by looking at the Pentax gear that you have had! ;-D

what? LOL :D
It's tack sharp across the frame from f3.5
It's tack sharp across the frame with the exception of tiny edges, that are just sharp enough.
