New K-5 Firmware V1.12 is Coming

Links are not working yet but they are there!

http://www.pentax.co.uk/en/Photo-Downloads.html#MediaTypeID4

Let's see what will be offered.

On the other hand and unfortunately, there is no update of firmware for the K-r. It seems that the firmware support to the K-r by Pentax has already ended.

Update (1-3): The 1.12 items have been withdrawn by Pentax UK in the above page.

We could be wrong but it looks as if the K-r is abandoned by Pentax. Maybe they will do something, but it's all a bit late really.
I have same feeling about K-r support, as i had few years ago about (my) K200D. is this signal from pentax, that they are still abandoning "low-end" bodies quickly?
Barry F = Mr. Spocko ;)

what's new?
Maybe...I hope...Pentax still works on K-r front focus problem... :) And 1.12 fix the problem...

Use WB Tungsten setting if FF gets in your way. Work around, most K-r owners are happy with, since the rest of this tool is a "killer" for the price...

Why would one hope for more FW on officially discontinued Pentax product, it's not what the rest of manufacturing competition is doing... EVERYBODY wants you to buy a new stuff, that's how they stay in business...
Sorry, if I use WB on Tungsten, it is the same. Isn`t solution...

That's unfortunate, perhaps search dpreview why some say it works for them.. (Pentax) Quick Shift could help too, I suppose...
Am I blind, or 1.12 is not listed yet at the link you provided?
Since it's nothing to talk about, how can anyone see 'what is offered' ??
it was there 1.12 but was pulled up today...

It seems that the new firmware will not be published soon then. Possibly something wrong has been spotted and they would need more time to rectify.
Just because it wasn't published BEFORE the scheduled time, it doesn't necessarily means something was wrong with it.
Or maybe camera makers have an obligation to instantly launch leaked products, even if they were supposed to be ready days/weeks/months later...
But you must have forgot that this leak is at an official site! They didn't know what they were doing? Yes, they must have been!
So what? Are official sites immune to such mistakes? It's not the first, nor the last time something like this happens.
Because we're talking about one site only, because only the links were published (no actual firmware could be downloaded) and because the firmware was not supposed to be released on 31 Dec (when everyone's preparing for the NY party? Yeah, sure...) - yes, it was a MISTAKE.
Besides, software is made available only AFTER it passed normal and regression tests.
Maybe they decided no new firmware since it's been dicontinued?
I dream of manual exposure control for video, but I doubt it's coming :/

Existing Pentax DSLRs don't have it forever, non any effective motion compression for the video! >:-(
I don't see why it shouldn't have manual exposure control for video due to the file format used.
Yes, it seems that even the Pentax Q has the manual control during video recording. It is just a software thing afterall (Vs video motion compression which is not solely software related as hardware processing power does count (and specific chipset should be employed)).
