Pentax Cheap Glass Wins Sony's Hands Down!

Same body, same testing method, by the same tester, but for different lenses, i.e., DAL 35/2.4 Vs SEL 30/3.5:-

Oh well, big hooray for Pentax?! ;=D Or, it is just that that Sony lens is just too worse to compare? :-o Note that the costs of both lenses are more or less the same.

If you just don't believe in chart shooting and Imatest, there are also some real-world samples posted, although those are in small size.

I think we shoudl test out SAL35/1.8 too as SEL30 is for NEX

Yeah, a macro lens should have done. Kind of bad for Sel 30mm

Sony lenses are weak except few, p 35 2.4 is not shining with af accurracy due to the lack of 2.8 af sensor in pentax cams but you can stop down to 5.6

The test result shows the Pentax lens is excellent although the centre resolution at f2.4 is worse than the corner! One wonders if they got the graph wrong.

This would not be really surprised if there exists image field curvature and that the AF is not dead accurate, i.e., it focused better for the corners than the image centre.
