Yet Another "About the K-01" Rumour

From DSLR Magazine @Twitter (Spanish) via Mirrorless Rumors.

From Google Translation and Quoted:-

"For the K-mount SLR like, and probably the same flange distance. No viewer!"

"The new Pentax CSC will be somewhat smaller than Kr, and is not sure-win-at once a beauty pageant."

"The new CSC will use the mount Pentax "K" classical optics compatible with their current SLR. You do not have eye-level viewfinder."

So, just believe these or not, for a K-mount, ugly and not-so-small mirrorless camera body but without a viewfinder to come! :-o

Previous Digicame Info rumour said that it has a viewfinder, but unsure about if it is additional or internal, nor if it is optical or electronic.

So if it is just an add-on type EVF, these rumours could actually still not contradict each other as they seem to be.
I am not really sure if the 'beauty pageant' remark tells us anything. Are they comparing it to the Fuji X line, the NEX, or compared to the Kr?

As far as whether it has an OVF or EVF, my thought is that since it is mirrorless and it has the 'stop sign' symbol for manual focusing, I really do not need a viewfinder and can use the rear LCD. An OVF would not be true since it can take different lenses, and unless they are using the a77 OLED, EVFs typically suck.

I would rather have an articulating rear LCD than either OVF or EVF.

For me, if this camera is the same pricepoint as the Kr with K5 features, I am buying this to replace my aging K10 and look at it becoming my secondary/travel body when the K5 successor or rumored FF comes out.

I would rather have an articulated LCD *and* an EVF as an *option*!
I agree with rice here...in fact I'd prefer a mini hdmi output for raw video, and I'll use a pro quality monitor... or separate digital recorder for serious work..
That's understandable but I don't think this camera will be aimed at the higher end.

A smallish mirrorless DSLR, with around a APS-C size high quality sensor that takes K mount - whats not to like?
The mirrorless stupids do not need a viewfinder, the screen on the back is enough for the iPhone people.
Oh lord so no viewfinder and evidently it's damn ugly nice one for the bargain close-out deals at a cut price?
I'm not sure why thy think this is going to work using a camera with no VF (of any type) isn't much fun, it's a whole lot less fun with SLR type lenses.

I see lots of people using their canon rebels like a point and shoot camera. Using the live view and not the optical view finder. There are people out there who could care less about an optical viewfinder. I just hope this isn't the future of the k-mount.
Yes, exactly. There are just too many Rebel users out there who just like to use LV to shoot and I have seen many of them actually, too. They do not need a reflex indeed.
I really don't know why so many think that this is the future of the K-mount. It could be just another line entirely.
I say it depends on how good the live view LCD is. The LCD has to be pretty good me thinks for this to work well. (note: not saying it will be).
In all honesty, as with girls, the looks is nearly everything, where the money is at. If the camera's appearance is not well received, the camera will not sell well, and they know it.
What I wonder is if they remove the mirror, can it be K-mount compatible, but have the rear element of the new mirrorless format closer to the sensor? That way we don't alienate the folks with K-mount lenses, while reaping the benefits of space efficiency without the mirrorbox.
I hope it's at least compatible with the GXR Viewfinder.
