K-5 Lens Release Button Detachment Issue Once Verified

Further to the previous reports by some K-5 users, I've seen yet another same report today by another K-5 guy:-

Well, I just wonder why that lens release button of the K-5 should be more easily broken than the other Pentax DSLRs?! :-o >:-| If not, why we have not seen similar reports for the K-r, say, which is sold far more than the K-5, certainly.

Nevertheless, once again, this strange K-5 quality and reliability issue is verified.

me too, and I've found many other people in french forums with the same problem. I've send it back to Pixmania, but Pentax France cancelled the warranty, saying that my K5 fell. So they ask me 265€ to repair ... Thanks Pentax !!!

If I were you, I would not pay even 1 penny to them as they should honour their warranty.

Raise complaint to Pentax HQs at Japan and as the same time post your really bad experience at the Internet to let people know about your unfair treatment as received, until Pentax France honour their liability once again (but unlikely!) and actually I think they owe you an apology for all the inconvenience caused.
