From reviews, it looks like the tamron is a good lens, also it's cheaper than canon/nikon 24-70's. The only thing I dislike about this lens (and hope it gets fixed in the pentax version) is the onion bokeh, it looks ugly.

I had the tamron on my 5dmkii. Not a bad lens at all!
Even with Pentax brand it is going to be a lot cheaper than any other similar spec lens.
Bokeh while not the best, does not really bad ...does not deserve to be called onion ring bokeh. I am sure this lens will be a big hit for pentax.....even with the ff camera plus this lens will probably be much cheaper than what others cost.
