Sony RX100 II Announced

http://store.sony.com/p/20.2-megapixel%2C-RX100/en/p/DSCRX100M2/B

Will you consider this instead of the new Ricoh GR or Pentax Q7, or even over the old Pentax MX-1? Undoubtedly, the RX100 II is far more versatile and it compromises well for its features set, performance, sensor size, camera size, image quality and then the price! Well, it does support an EVF and has a flipped monitor, too!

In fact, as a current Q user, I do not consider the Q7 anymore, which is not a real upgrade for me. The RX100 II seems to be a much better combo than the Q7 with a 02 zoom lens. And, last time I inspected the Q7 samples, the corner performance of the Q7 images with the original 01 prime lens is actually not that good.

Rather expensive. The lens is not fast. f4.9 at 1" sensor is very slow. The lens is middle grade. I don't see any sense to buy expensive EVF for such camera. 20 MP for 1" sensor is too much.

Well, RX100 Mk 2 has a 70-210mm constant 2.8 zoom too?
And a fisheye lens too?
And 40mm fast prime?
Yeah, right.

"Pentax ... most likely must design products around sensors that are offered in the official ordering catalogue." (C)

Are the sensors that are offered in the official ordering catalogue so bad? ;)
Is the Pentax - one and only company that don't manufacture sensors itself for it's own cameras?
Poor little soul - Pentax, let's have a pity of it.

RX100 II:
Constant f4.9 at 100mm(135 equivalent) = Not too sexy, flofy

Q +06 zoom+01 rpime:
Constant f2.8 from 84-252mm(135 equivalent) + f1.9 at 47mm(135 equivalent) = Hot hot hot sexy boom!!!
Aside from tilting LCD, wifi, NFC (which can be used to pair a tablet or phone as remote), the sensor itself is different. It's BSI sensor. The older RX100 was regular CMOS sensor.

Imaging-resource preview claims one stop improvement (though that could be just better jpegs)

Aside from the photography itself, we should not overlook to the innovation incorporated in Sony RX100 II. Read further here: http://www.sonycsl.co.jp/en/research_gallery/feel...

It was developed almost decade ago, and the communication is strongest form factor in this camera.
