First see the Ricoh official announcement:
http://www.ricoh.com/release/2011/1001_1.html (English version)
http://www.ricoh.co.jp/release/2011/1001_1.html (Japanese version)
And the announcements from the Pentax side:-
http://www.pentax.jp/english/news/announce/20111001.html
(in English, at the Pentax Japanese Homepage)
http://www.pentaximaging.com/about-us.aspx?p=press&pid=PENTAXANNOUNCESNEWCOMPANYNAME20110930150136
(Press Release by Pentax Imaging (USA) themselves)
Well, it seems that Ricoh treasures the brand name "Pentax" and could even put it in precedent of their own mother company name despite of the ownership. I think this is a good start afterall, for the good intention, open-mindedness and mentality behind that have been shown.

I'd prefer Pentax to further improve on their APS-C DSLRs (to keep all my lenses usable).
My wish list is very short: Don't change anything without need. No other form factor. No different user interface. No increase in resolution. Maybe further improve on noise levels, but it is not important. For studio work, a little improvement on the flash system would do good, but again - it's not that important.
BUT: PLEASE integrate the O-GPS1, improve AF precision (especially in low-light environment), and offer a longer lens than 300mm. All these items improve the outdoor/wildlife/nature/sports capabilities of the camera.
And Pentax, if you really want to do something fancy again (like the O-GPS1), integrate a lightning trigger - for thunderstorm photography, again building the reputation for outdoor versatility.
