Canon 6D is Now Official - One More "Cheap" FF Suddenly Arrives!

See the official specs as published at the DPR:-

http://www.dpreview.com/products/canon/slrs/canon_eos6d

Is that 11-point AF with central f/2.8 sensor borrowed from our Pentax flagship K-5II? ;-D

Btw, if the 6D is compared to the specs of the K-5II, the weight difference is only by 10g, but don't forget the 6D is a Full Frame camera and that it has the GPS and WiFi functions built-in. Unlike the K-5II/s, there is no need to add on a GPS module, i.e., the O-GPS1. And the K-5II bodies could never support WiFi of course.

Update: DPR has published a preview of the 6D.

Do you have a inferiority complex with weight of cameras?

BTW O-GPS1 system is better for me, because it has a external power system; don't use from body. ;)

What is the price? If more than 1k, its a waste of money.

this blog should be call Pentax Haters, to the point their are allot of tech and photography site that say that they want to review the pentax k5 II, because the k5 was a good camera and the k5 II fixes the one weakness it had autofocus in low light.

i would use a nikon but never a canon
Well, I would use a Canon, but never-ever a Nikon / Nikkor !

If Pentax give us FF35, a top high end DSLR camera,
0,9X viefinder magnification, ( I can accept 0,8 X + O-ME53 on top, for a final 0,94X, if the pentaprism and eye point are big enough ),
fast a trusty AF, reliable body, decent size ( front grip and SR on the back, make camera way to bulky; I don't need SR or huge front grip..)
etc., etc.,
then I can happily use Pentax again, enjoying SMC - infinitely better then Canon coatings, a good viewfinder, a decent size, decent design and ergonomics, a decent bokeh ( screw Nikkor...), and so on....
nikon kills canon af

I can't wait till pentax comes out with a ff so rice high can bitch about it!
It's not that "cheap", about the same price (& almost the same specs) as the current model of 5D MkII

oh god, reading your blog is torture. ignorance is bliss, and I wish I didn't know about all these wonderful Canikon/Fuji/Olly products, and I would be blissfully unaware and happy with my K7.
Weight will be not that important if you compare materials these bodies (Canon 6D, Nikon D600 and Pentax K-5 II) are made of. I believe Canon and Nikon are made of cheaper plastic and are not weather sealed.

Wifi in your camera -- a great feature to have in case your battery lasts too long.
11 AF points , they must surely being on their last legs..... and must be going out of business.

Thanks for the news. I am really excited about the 6D and want to see how it compares to Nikon D600. I will choose one of them hopefully
Here is another comparison that may be helpful: http://dslrpassion.com/reviews/60-equipment/498-c...
