With current state of the art sensor technology APC camera has no point, we just need more Nikon/Canon/Sony cameras. Pentax was sold to RICOH for pennies, this means they had completely different idea in mind, may be dozen patents they got or something we do not know. Better AF and lack of AA filter pushes me to upgrade my K5. The basic problem is lack of ecosystem around Pentax cameras.

I have a great ecosystem for those cameras right in my photo bag...:P
Who are those "we"? Because *I* know - even the publicly available information is enough to be certain Pentax Ricoh mean business. Imaging Business :p

P.S. With the current state of the art sensor technology bigger than APS-C cameras has no point, for most photographers.
If you still want to defend, the Q is enough for most average users including you and me, as a "photographer" who uses it as a "photographic tool"!
It's definitely enough for you :p
The Q is not enough for you because you're not a photographer, but just a pixel peeper, who knows to complain only!
Ricey, are you sure you aren't talking about yourself?
pixel peeper, check
knows to complain only, absolutely.
Yep, that's you - but guess what, other people are different.
I scoffed at the q, but now, I want one. It offers so many possibilities! As a street cam it would be rather hard to beat.
I can see myself getting one once they incorporate focus peaking. I'd use it as a handy teleconverter.
Does the new Q10 feature focus peaking? Nope?
Can you say Corn-beef and rehash. Another money loser for Pentax

Taking the best camera body in the world and best aps-c sensor and fixing some of the problems (low light AF, easily scratched, hard to see screen....) as well as offering an AA filterless version is not all that bad. How long has canon been milking the 7d and its noisy sensor now? What would have been better in your opinion? A downgrade to the noisy sony 24mp sensor? I don't see any reason to upgrade the k-5 asides from M processor improvements like focus peaking. You can have video AF. I'd much rather use MF to avoid noise.
The sequel is never as good as the original. I still think it is another money loser for Pentax. The Question is how does Pentax attarck new customers after a continual loss over two or three decades? Is it possible? What other washed up camera company has been able to make a come back? Kodak??? Time to move along folks, nothing to see here. O consider Pentax to be more collectables or antiques but no longer a viable camera company.
find my spellin errors and win a prize!
I just heard that Pentax was two more DLSR's in the pipe line the K5III and K5IV-2. LOL. I heard this from a reliable source over at PF. Maybe pentax will get into web-cams....

So clever. Wow you must have spent a bit of time thinking throught that tired one.
From cut-out model, it's clear that it's not possible to fit the full frame sensor with SR system in K5 body. I guess you have to wait for years for Pentax-Ricoh to develop FF dslr alone then. Or perhaps slow down the R&D on new DA/Q lens, processing unit, and anything else to put effort solely in FF may be you could have FF dslr next year.
Buying Pentax is like buying a car from GM the company will not be here in ten years. GM still has the same union problems that cuased the trouble in the first place. Pentax can't seem to develop or produce a viable product that will ijncrease it's customer base. Both companies are doomed to go the way of Kodak.
