New DA* Lenses' US/Online Prices

It seems that I have been quoting the PF more often recently, but FWIW:-

http://www.pentaxforums.com/news/new-pentax-rebates-now-in-effect-mostly.html

In short, the DA*16-50 is now for $1424, the DA*50-135 is $1524, the DA*60-250 is $1899, for instance! Well, these prices are utter non-sense after all! I now know why PF seems to be angry with Pentax these days! If this trend continues, who will buy more new Pentax gear? And how PF could earn a living as nobody to buy the gear via them and affiliated shops online?! :-o I am almost sure that PF had the figures in their hands how those Pentax sales are dropping..

Sigma's 17-50 is way better then DA*16-50.
and if PENTAX are so STUPID so F*** it.
and with latest Flag Sh. I prefer to spend 8K$ for new system and not 1200$ for another lagging AF...

I thought the same way - "why to spend such big money for bad QC and system not suitable for professional work and trying to work with it..."
I think I am slowly migrating to Canon, although I really don't want to.
I am leaning to Fuji XE1 - fantastic sensor and now af Zeiss lens that are priced.

I am keeping my Pentax FA primes for future FF (am I being stupid to wait ?). But at least with the Fuji, I will have fun waiting.
I mean priced reasonably - 1000 GBP - 1600 USD
Sure prices are up. but call B&H for quotation, you will see that prices are low as before :)

These prices are not high, they are just plain insane - so Ricoh decided to send Pentax along "the Leica way", it seems. The only question is, will the quality live up to this ambitious target - and will the market accomodate another rather "exotic" brand in this segment? I'm afraid it will not... (and I hope that my K-5+lenses will continue to work reliably for years to come)
