FTR. ISO200 yields more detail /IQ than ISO80
This is great, never expected that the 51200 would be usable in any form but this gives a descent result (for small prints) with a lot of selective noise reduction.
Hope they'll start posting the prices in Europe soon, so I can mentally prepare ;-)

The introduction price of the K5 body is €1.199,-- in The Netherlands. Nikon's D7000 (body) €1.189,--

So, Pentax and Nikon go head to head!
wow - thanks Brinkman - again better than I hoped for (I'm from Belgium - about 0Km from The Netherlands :D )
Looks very interesting. I wonder how the raw files look.

It's nice to see the amount of detail that remains in the ISO 51200 picture. Sure, lots of noise, even after Neat Image (I wonder how Neat Image would do with the raw source), but there are lots of detail still. Usable for web and small print.
got allergies? :D

I think my K10D images do not lag behind. I work with studio stobes, as I have mentioned, and for this there is no need to have a high ISO.
Here is an example of what I took just recently with my humble K10D: http://rapidshare.com/files/425831607/_IGP3812.jp...
I do not see any problem with the image. And do not think the image from K-5 would be better.

K-5 has really higher resolution and 2 stops better noise than K10D without IQ degradation at 1600-3200.
Anyway, K10D is good machine.
It's very good. I'm impressed that IQ has no any traces of softness and "soapy" like 7D. http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/1226262-post17...
DNG to download

It's plastic toy at the photo, but IQ is really good. Film like.

I can't say that K-5 is noiseless camera, but noise is well-controlled and easy to remove just only with COLOUR NR in LR.
I used 6 for ISO800, 10 for ISO1600 and 13 for ISO3200.

It's rather scanty settings.

VERY_VERY GOOD from 80 till 800 without any NR in converter. 1600 is fine for me.
3200 and above are good with small NR in LR.

My modest verdict - very good IQ for 16 MP APS-C camera. IQ is better than Canon 7D. And better than K-7.
Good news - no any NR in RAW from ISO 80 till 1600 AT ALL.
