More K-01 Body, System and Lens Diagrams!

Which appeared very momentarily at this Xitek post but all the posted pictures have been removed very shortly afterwards! (Edit: It has been updated and told by the above OP that the first source of leaked information is from Fengwei (aka Frank or Fengwei something at various different Chinese or English forums) whom should be a Singapore Pentax dealer as well as a forum moderator over there under the NDA with Pentax Ricoh. Three more pictures are added! (But yet the previous removed ones are still deleted.))

What a dumb ass. Doesn't NDA mean anything to this guy? Just could not contain himself. BTW, depending on pricing of this, I think they are in real trouble. Why buy this when you can buy K-5 for $750 us.

keep the aluminum knobs and dials, keep the black grips and paint the body metallic copper or gold...
Pentax will have a hit.. the first Steam Punk Styled retro cam in the evil class market!
Hell I'd buy it!

This time probably not powered by failing AA batteries but with gasoline, the filling orifice is near the grip. The dial has a second function, it is a fuel tank cap too. ;)

Everyone that consider it ugly can consider an advantage...It looks like an old camera and noone will steal it from ya....This is a very good thing imo..

A real ugly beast! But if the inner quality convinces me, I maybe can convince myself to like it.
At the end, one thing is true, as always: image quality is what counts, nothing else. We will see, but I would like to give Pentax a chance and I am curious!

To be honest, I was expecting worse. From those Russian drawings, I was expecting some real ugliness, but this is growing on me in a good way.

Visually, I only have a few minor quibbles. 1. Odd two tone - So the Flash gets a different color than the rest of the 'metal' parts. That just looks odd. I would really like the silver body/silver flash model. 2. Green/Red buttons - They look cheaper. 3. 01 font - the font of the Qlooks more fitting than what they chose.

In the end, the look is something I could live with. The big question is AF functions on video mode - continuous focus would make me overlook the lack of a front wheel and top lcd.

I didn't like the looks, but maybe it will warm up to me.

One real big disappointment (at least for me) is the lack of a tilting LCD screen - without an EVF/OVF, then at least gimme a screen I can adjust for below or above eye level shooting.

Unless the rumoured specifications are incorrect, why is tK-01 heavier than the Sony A55 or A35? The Sony versions have fixed mirror plus an electronic viewfinder

Photo rumors is reporting pricing:

Pentax K-01 body only: $750
Pentax K-01 plus the new 40mm f/2.8 lens: $900
Pentax K-01 two zoom lens kit (18-55mm & 50-200mm): $1000

Can't say it is pretty from the whole picture while the details look nice. The type of black color makes is look toyish, maybe it is my monitor. I'd say, if the make it even pretty/uglier, it may strike a chord with user with something really unique. Anyway, I'd reserve my judgement till I hold it and see it in the flesh

From what i read this will have the 16.2 mpixel sensor from K-5..I think you already know the image quality already and iso performance...

It looks toyish to me with the green, red and white dials. It seems to have a very good ergonomic especially when mounted with small lens. When using bigger lens, you will hope for deeper grip.

It looks ugly but I like the features and the size. I don't mind getting this as my alternative to my K-x. I need something smaller and light... but yes, Its really ugly.

This is Frank AKA fengwei. Just to claim here that I never signed any NDA w/ Pentax. I got the demo prototype from our local distributor to test. And they never asked me not to post photos of the camera or taken by the camera.
