Pixel Count Race? New Nokia Phone Wins Over the 645D! :-o

Nokia 808 PureView, 1/1.2" sensor, 7728x5368 resolution, Carl Zeiss lens:-

See the official Nokia product page here:-

http://europe.nokia.com/pureview

Well, it has 1 megapixels more than that of the 645D, so the Nokia wins in the race! Its sensor is larger than that of the Q by almost four times in area! And, it has a Carl Zeiss lens, of which all models had been discontinued for the Pentax system earlier! :-(

Update: Full sample images can be downloaded here at Nokia's blog, via 1001 Noisy Cameras.

You should read what the real output of that camera is. It's not 41 MP. It's a clever idea though.
It's 36MP at 16:9 and 38MP at 4:3. Not too shabby! And the IQ seems to be surprising people looking at the images in Lightroom.

I know that certainly my plans of getting a Q have been obliterated. For similar money I can have a superior camera with internet connectivity and with a more pocketable size.
The pictures look marvellous.
IQ is really impressive, albeit the ISO is too slow (at 50 something). Resolution is at 38MP+ only in 4:3 aspect.

It has no where near the resolving power of the 645d, the noise in the sky part the image does not exist in 645d images. This nowhere near as good as a medium for camera....

By the way, i want to say windows phone I think i will skip it & stick to my iPhone.
The camera only outputs at 3, 5 and 8 megapixels for
The end user. Not 36, 38 or 41 mps. The idea is to provide a zoom with no detail loss or higher quality shots using super sampling.
Nikon d40 users should change their cameras .... They really have a choice now..A phone and a "D40" in the same little pocket size is intersting ...Finally i see Nokia got creative ...
Carl Zeiss lens, in fact no. It'sdeveloped with Carl Zeiss, but the lens is not manufactured by Carl Zeiss.
