Some K-01 Samples (Adobe PS CS5 Edited)

The IQ is not bad IMO, but a bit too tasty in colour saturation and sharpening. I shall see if anyone else will post some not-so-highly retouched (or the in-camera processing levels were set a bit too high) and directly-out-of-the-camera K-01 samples later on.

P.S. I think the photos were taken in Singapore, where I visited the last Summer with my NEX. I may post some travelling photos of mine to share later on.

I think that may be the camera's JPEG engine at some defaults. I agree it's a bit over the top saturated. At least the reds look red, which is an issue to me with the Pentax JPEG engine.

What I don't understand- why the RAWS are 12 bit and not 14-bit like the K-5. I guess 14-bit DAC's are more $$$.

Firstly, I'm curious which photo is referred to you as 'highly touched-up'. As mentioned in my blog all photos are JPEG direct exported from the camera - PENTAX K-01 without the slightest PS touchup !! I was surprised with the color outcome of this model. FYI, the camera is set to DEFAULT mode (without specific color & saturation setting) and the camera is a sample set, not an end product which you can't judge the quality at its 100%. How can you judge when you've not used or tested this model? You must try to BELIEVE it !! For my end, PENTAX K-01 is more than SATISFACTION !! Can't Wait to see it on shelf soon !! P/S: This photo is taken in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia not Singapore. In the future please further enquire for details before making any personal judgement in your blog !! PEACE

Putting aside the saturated colours or casts, the sharpening level of your photos is obviously high, maybe when you downsized the original photos, the PS automatically applied some USM after resized? No?
