Someone Has Announced the K-01!

http://www.prweb.com/releases/Pentax/K01/prweb9160747.htm

The only "new" thing I believe is about the H.264 1080p 30 frames video, which the Q already had.

"Focus peaking mode provides fast and accurate manual focusing for critical focus applications." is new too

focus peaking makes this camera quite interesting
Sony will soon sue Pentax for IP infringement? :-o
Ricoh has already provided focus peaking since its A12 Mount.
I have had this "new" feature with my NEX for long with my manual lenses, thus no need to buy a new brick mirrorless camera because of this.
Any how many AF lens does your NEX support without the bulky adapter ?

And those NEX E-mount lens seems to have very poor edge performance too http://www.photozone.de/sony-alpha-aps-c-lens-tes...
This is pointless. As a K-mount user, if I want to use AF lenses of Pentax, I simply use DSLRs of theirs. If I want compactness and lightweightedness of an ILDC body and am using old manual lenses, I simply use the NEX via simple but not bulky adaptors and still got their first invented MF peaking function without the need of a brick sized, shaped and weighted body!
As a k-mount user that shoots a lot of video... I have duplicates of some lenses simply because it is easier to use the manual focus lenses for serious shooting than the af versions due to the better feel of the lenses... I've done pro work using an M 50 1.4 without having to buy or build a "Follow focus" and to be honest.. the peaking and lcd combined is better than an evf anyways for video shooting...
try to remember this isn't a d-slr REPLACEMENT.. it is a multimedia camera...video and stills, for serious shooters...
How difficult for Pentax Ricoh to include an EVF or at least an articulating monitor to it? Especially consider that bulkiness of the K-01, this seems to be a too obvious oversight!
or a cost consideration with more advanced model in the drawing boards....
wouldn't take much to to add those features to a k-02...
but who cares? when added to my existing cameras... I can now add the k-5's image quality to my camera bag with a newer, smaller body and more important to me..BETTER video abilities than the k-5!

a worthy camera in own right, but certainly won't replace my d-slrs.. might replace one of my Sony camcorders though...
;0)
K-01 has focus peaking with body SR for the manual focus lens, and that is something none of the mirrorless has provided yet.
Russian Pentax Website posted also an announcement: http://www.pentax.ru/press/articlehtml/pr_K_01/

Supporting only jpg and DNG no PEF anymore?
I want one but not at the intro price (normal for me). At $500 body only/$650 with lens this would be a killer.

Biggest disappointment for me is the weight and lack of weather seals. Give me the same weight but with weather seals or lose 100g.

I still think Im going to get one, but I will wait until the street price gets closer to $500.

On the other hand, the new 40mm lens goes right on my list at $250 MSRP. Should hit $200 street right off like the DA 35 did. Put that baby on my K200 and I have one small camera!
Yes, but I feel a second K mirrorless camera will be launched with a rugged built.
I can't actually believe this got a nod from the board and hit the factory!
Wow what a pig ugly camera and worse no VF at all. Man Pentax is losing it must be the Ricoh influence they're a bit off the wall at times too
