K-3's:

The K-3's looks different from the D7100 and D5200's. They do NOT look the same, do they?

The big question: Is it an old sensor or a new one!? This is important.

Shame on Adam at PF for telling everyone it was a Toshiba sensor!!! Bad information.

If I'm buying a computer I want to know what the chip is. Why so long to get straight info on this?

Let start some rumors for Photokina 2014?
I didn't know if Sony and Pentax had a strong enough Sensor Shift (must be Titanium to reduce kinetic energy while providing torsional strength) so it will withstand the oscillation needed to provide a truer set of Anti-Aliasing-Agoritums than that which the antiquated over-glorified Blur-Filter (creates by coincidence) when useing optical stabilization. It does give Ricoh something to bring to the bargaining table with Sony (unique to others), when Sony rolls out the 36mp replacement they most likely are working on already (hopefully it uses less expensive 30mp lenses) with further improved Low-Light, as well as well as having Ricoh's Sensor Shift based (AAA) Anti-Aliasing-Algorithm in mind for the Pentax FF K-3S (Sans/Moire or Less filter) giving best affordable resolving power or drastically reducing time in the cutting room.

Who cares what sensor it is? As long as it performs well and gives you the results you want. You can't choose anyway, if you're a Pentax user. Hope it doesn't have issues like D600 (muck on the sensor) or the Canon ones or the Pentax K-5 spots or was it K-7 (I can't remember which one it was).

It's the higher pixel count that needs a better lens to utilize the full potential of the image sensor (the Zeiss 55mm f/1.4 for FF-DSLR's 32mp to 50mp but less $$$ if it's for 30mp or less) for a good APS-C under 20mp my Zeiss 100mm Macro should work better than my Zeiss 21mm but my Hartbleu 45mm with side focus should show any flaws in an APS-C over 20mp. At 16mp my lenses work great, at 24mp all but 1 may not be good enough to take full advantage of the improved image sensor, if the only improvement they left out was the increase in pixel count (hoping novices still follow the Mega Pixel Wars) then 16mp is faster than 24mp, 16mp creates less noise at high ISO than 24mp, and the resolving power per pixel is a greater percentage.
does it make sense? A K3 APS-C 24mp , you would need to have extremely good and expensive lenses to go with it. With a Sony A7 FF 24mp, you can just get a run of the mill FF lens and you are good to go. On top of that, The new A7 MSRP is not that much more than the K3. Let say if you put your investment in the APS-C, will it retain the same value after a few years if you decide to put them on ebay and upgrade to FF? As lens and sensor tech advance, COC/Pixel element , guess which format has more room to grow? FF has the potential to reach the IQ look and feel of Medium format provided with really fast and sharp lenses.

Pentax K3, eat your heart out!
Pentax 50mm FA F1.4 wide opened @ f1.4. Zhongyi/Mitakon lens turbo and a cheapo Sony A3000, natural indoor lighting.

Good point, from an investment view-point it's backwards, if you have to save money on the camera (FF 36mp instead of 16mp), then drop Large Coin on a Zeiss 55mm instead of getting a Zeiss 85mm for less than half as much "It's penny wise and pound foolish". As far as getting a Sony image sensor in a Sony DSLR instead of hoping Ricoh uses it next, I see the rational. I say Pentax can work a deal with Sony now that both can use image based AA (Anti-Aliasing) and maybe similar image processing, rather than Nikon having thear way with the 24mp and 36mp image sensors again with little or no regard for Sony's new FF-DSLR.
P. S. This at least makes for a good rumor about Photokina 2014 that could very likely see fruition.
