Official Pentax K to Q Convertor/Adaptor is Coming! :-o

http://dc.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/20110825_472562.html
(Babelfish English translation here)

The demonstration/product show will be carried out on 3rd and 4th of September, the tentative official name is the "KQ Adaptor". The title of the show is "surprise". Yes, I am really surprised! Or, I should say I am shocked or even frightened!!

With a 5.6X multiplying factor and an image circle of 1/nth of the original 135 Full Frame K-mount format no matter in diameter and in area, I just can't imagine what resolution can the K-mount lens give and what result is delivered after the adoption! :-o

I hope NOT such *nonsense* of Pentax should continue, even after the takeover by Ricoh! Really too bad.. >:-(

That's still useless. Coz with only about 1/6 of the original linear resolution of the lens.. I bet cropping a high-res digital picture would do better.
DA*300/4 ~ equiv. 1680mm/f22 - it's nonsense
Wrong! It's just virtually an 1680mm effective angle of view but with same aperture and speed as f/4!

You cropped a sensor will NOT make it slower! Right?
DA40/2.8~ 224 mm/f16 equiv. for FF.

FA77/1.8 ~ 430 mm/f10

FA50/1.4 ~ 280 mm/f8

hard to say that such adapter has any serious sense. just for fun IMO.

keep in mind that the f numbers you provided are only true for depth of field, not speed ;)
Of course....FA50/1.4 has rather low resolution at 1.4. No need to use f1.4. If you will use it, for example, at f4 - DOF will be f22.
The resolution of such combo FA50 + adaptor + Q will be approx. the same as 150 mm lens at f4. Not bad. But I don't see any sense to use FF lenses at Q.
If we take DA*300....It will be useless at all...

why useless ??? you're jealous ?
The FA 50 is very good from f/2 and I bet it would be fantastic to shoot low light portraits at ISO 1600.
