First of all, download and read this well-prepared brochure from the Pentax Imaging website:-
http://c2b6d376b97bcc466063-5420c200a1f030d1394a9548df6eadbd.r5.cf2.rackcdn.com/files/support/LENS%20BROCHURE_121912_LR.pdf
Next, the FA Limited is nowhere mentioned in the above brochure, whilst the latest DA offering including the DA560 lens is there. So, what does this mean?!
Does it hint that the FA Limited and the old Pentax film lenses are being faded out?? :-o
Whilst other major old film mount camera makers, namely, Canon, Nikon and Sony, are rushing to compete in Full Frame, it is really super frustrating to see Pentax is running in the opposite direction instead, i.e., away from FF and "concentrate" further back to APS-C!
The new DA560 lens is just a strong hint, which was tested and proven to be an APS-C lens for its image circle but not 135 FF compatible! Also, the DA560 lens is the first Pentax telephoto lens that is NOT FF compatible, DA or not!
After all, I feel obliged to state that there must be something wrong in the brains of those Ricoh Pentax' management heads. If they just wanted to kill the K-mount and make it obsolete or just to change it into a pure APS-C system, why bought and acquired the brand and company?! >:-(

Maybe Pentax wants to surprise us when it will come, are they adopting Apple strategy? I don't think so!
Even if I do not need a FF for the moment, I was expecting strong investments from Ricoh and for the moment it is quite poor, let's see what will come in April and what the new APS-C flagship will bring...

Otherwise, who in their right mind would adopt a new system when Canon and Nikon are light years away?
wigelii · 625 weeks ago
I would do that if I planned to release a FF in 2013.

Are they dumb enough to kill those lenses?

With Pentax expertise in making things small, I do wish for a compact Full-frame mirrorless body with new mount (full electronic like Canon EF mount) with short register distance (like Micro Four Thirds) with EVF (OM-D) with its own small line of lenses for a compact system. Also available is an optional well-made adapter for full support of Pentax K mount. Other adapters with full/partial support for Canon, Nikon lenses available by Third parties (Tokina?) is possible.
Finally, such a camera may not eventually come from Pentax but maybe Sony or other manufacturers but I see Pentax Ricoh does have a chance now.

Nikon, Canon, and Sony will always make C/size DSLRs why do idiots refuse to let Pentax make full frame DSLRs (the class of Photographers who want them improve the image of the company that makes them) don't decide what we can buy, Pentax will always make C/size DSLRs. I want my lenses to work on both ff & C/size
