Ricoh GXR is Discontinued



After three years and some months, the GXR has completed its historical duty. News via Photo Rumors.

Sounds like it would make a nice EVF w/K-mount for primes (pancake) optional zoom for smaller image sensor, maybe the 2 halves wireless so you can mount a very small unit on an old Pentax telescope and control it with the view-finder in your hand, either one tethered by USB-3 to a HDD/SSD or computer.

Well, a 10mp sensor package is very old in the tooth.
As far as the 16mp package, it is connected to essentially a kit lens, so my guess is Ricoh is going to utilize the design of Pentax's miniature prime designs, as well as Ricoh's fine APSc prime camera, and create a better, smaller zoom that has a wider aperture.

I would like to see a new GXR with Kmount module.

GXRII is compatible with old modules. A12 50 and A12 28 are not discountinued

There have been no rumors/leaks at all about the GXRII or camera units - has anyone heard anything/know of any Ricoh testers with a new GXR? The new GXRII would have to be compatible with the old modules and would hopefully improve their performance.

The K-01 was officially discontinued by Pentax rather than by a dealer and didn't appear on Ricoh/Pentax's current line up presented around the time of the GR announcement. GXR has had nothing said officially (would they announce the end of the system to B&H first rather than globally?) and it was presented as being part of the current line up. Who knows - it may still be discontinued, but I hope not...

No any official info. ALL MODULES ARE IN STOCK. Check BHPhoto.
BHPhoto is only one company which put DISCONTINUED for GXR body.
