Countdown for the K-r and the New DAL Lenses (35 & 18-125)

Although possibly there would be nothing great and surprised, it does no harm at all for me to insert an unofficial countdown timer here, just like what I did last time for the K-7! ;-)

So, enjoy waiting and more so for enjoying counting! ;-D What will actually come then? Oh, well.. :-o

Can't wait to see new bodies from Pentax! :) Cross fingers
Can't believe there has been no leaks so far! Someone usually breaks an embargo about now...

Makes me wonder how many girls would be born without guys... My daughter disagrees with Sandy... :o))) Glad I have her...
Rumor has it that the K5 will have the following features:
1) An image sensor
2) Some sort of way to attach lenses of the users choice to it! Thats cool
3) It will be a Pentax product but the K5 name might be wrong.
4) It will have some sort of strap so you can carry it around your neck. Thats neat!

I'm excited already!
Instead of speculating of the features rumored, I have a question for the five people that still read this site (just joking Rice). The question is, what feature does the entry level or flagship model need to have for you to call it a win? What feature, spec do you need it to have for you to turn your current rig into your backup camera and buy this?

The alternate question is - Are you considering waiting to see closeout prices on the K7/Kx and buy one of those instead?

Ok, I will kick it off - K-7 replacement - What is a must have for me is a AF system that can stay close with the D300s. I am sick and tired of my AF system lagging in a fast-pace environment (although, I am still using a K10, so it cannot be too awful for me) as well as 1080 with a choice of 30 or 24 fps. I don't nec. need continuous AF in video, but want it to focus if I half press the shutter. No, really, AF is big, and I want a frame choice.

Only way I consider the Kr is if it has front command wheel and illuminated AF points.

And, yes, I am looking very closely at the prices for the K7. With the firmware upgrades, it is a much better camera than it was when it came out, and if were somehow to get under $600, I just don't know how I could pass that up (also hoping AF would get another firmware bump).
OMG 18-125 ITS THE LENS I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR...ITS ABOUT TIME. Its one of my favorites on the Nikon and can't wait for the Pentax one. the 18-55 and 50-200 combo are nice but man I really want and all around lens. As for the new cameras the k5 sound like the camera that will retire all my others. It doens't have to be a Nikon or a Canon it just has to do what my kx, ist D, and ist DS do all together. the k7 looks good too at the price and so does a k20 as I like the larger bodies.
OMG!! FF!!!
I don't know why anyone would want a lithium battery instead of AA rechargeables from Sanyo... What to save about 75g of weight? that's the dummest thing I've heard, just pair up a lithium battery agains some eneloops and just see how many shots you get... You may have a point in many of your views but to me lithium batteries just make sense in pocket compacts... That's why there are many still using *ists, but very few with D40 or d350...
I want a camera to stay with me for years, I'm not buying a new one every year.
