The Future of Pentax

See this article which talks about the future of Sony and the development direction of their ILCs:-

"The EVF Future": http://www.photoclubalpha.com/2012/03/12/the-evf-future/

Via 1001 Noisy Cameras.

That let me "suddenly" think about what's the future of Pentax then? If EVF is the future theme of Sony, I guess "finderless" is the future of Pentax as it correlates! >:-| Pentax has just done one more step than all the others in removing the finder, but not just doing it "half-baked" for merely a mirrorless! :-o

Sorry for the "bashing" again, but I just can't help myself!

It is very sad that Pentax was famous for its Pentaprism finder, and now it's finding a way to remove it and it is unable to show Pentax could do it with a breakthrough/unique way... even Fujifilm has done it in a way other maker couldn't do

So, to be technically more correct, the K-01 should be regarded as "Pentaxless"!
I am a Pentax user and I have a canon S90 as a everyday camera..... and 99% of the time I don't need a VF. What is the point of having a EVF??? Sony is committed to produce EVF in their camera and sell them to different brands does not make it a necessity. If people are so particular, they should stick with a DSLR?? Why can't Pentax be different??

Pentax product manager said OVF stays, when needed. Pentax-Ricoh synonymous, not Pentax-Sony.
An interesting review. Image and build quality are excellent. Autofocus speed and low-light accuracy are the camera's main weak point.

hopefully with the CDAF these problems could be solved by firmware updates

Do not worry about something that may never happen.

Exactly. If Pentax had not retained the K-mount with its new "mirrorless", everybody would be complaining about it (that includes me). If it had an OVF it would be bad (I don't know how but I'm sure someone would find a "hair in the soup" again), and so forth... And yet we are still with Pentax - my point: Most of us Pentaxians are reluctant to run around with a C or N, just because everybody and their mother already has one. It's like people who will buy a Citroen instead a Ford or Mercedes - it is the desire to express being different, which has little to do with the product itself (as long as it's usable)
