P.S. The scene was actually with warm sunlight from the left hand side when the time was near early evening. The NEX image turned out to be a bit too yellowish for the whole frame than my eyes could see whilst the K-5 one is just too white for the buildings and a bit too blue for the rest.

Press WB select Auto then press right key to set WB correction, then 3 Times the right key to shift WB towards Amber. You Will get thé same Colors as daylight WB.

The NEX output is definitely too yellowish for my taste . I didn't see the scene from my own eye so I can't say which photo is more accurate.
The K-5 output, on the other hand, kind of corrected the warmth of the sunset. I looks extremely natural and pleasing to me although it probably doesn't depict correctly the scene looked at from the naked eye.
If you shoot indoors with ugly light I expect the AWB to adjust to make it more natural. In most cases it works. The same applied here.
For me AWB is not WYSIWYG, it's "adjusting" to lighting conditions to avoid color cast/hue. The K-5 clearly succeeded here.
It may work differently on other systems but from K-x & K-5 experience, it seems to work like this to me.
Disclaimer: I never shoot AWB

But i had a K20D and the AWB was not as blue as on my K5 (i can see the difference in my images).
With a correction of A3 (Amber +3) of the AWB colors of the K5 are the same as K20D.
