Update (3-6):-

It seems that there is a bug in this batch of firmware update that the user is required to do a complete reset to the camera after flashing the new firmware, otherwise strange things would happen! Just see two of the latest user reports on the issue:-

No full reset is required?
I've installed on K-7. Working, I did some shots with 100WR macro lens. BUT! I've used autofocus on 100WR macro lens and camera was going to halt state! There was red indicator of focus point in the viewfinder, no button is working! I've turned off the camera, no change! Still working display and red indicator in the viewfinder! I've never had such BUG behore with my K-7. I've put out battery, then everything works ok. Strange...
none whatsoever. I've no idea what ill-effects I should be looking for tbh. No menu settings have changed and it's still taking pictures.

/not using an SDXC card tho, only SDHC.

Some K-5 users have been talking about the "improved AF" with the firmware 1.13 in K-5. What do you think?
I think Pentax did some change with autofocus. On my K-7 my camera stopped working (frozen state!, even red focus indicator still illuminated even I;ve turned off the camera!) during autofocus on my macro 100WR lense. I've had to remove battery to reset this frozen state.
Looks like this batch of the latest firmware is more problematic with some camera units, at least, for what have been reported.

Might be K-7 related...

It seems very much so. Very quick check in very low tungsten on (not contrasty) brown & tan colored blanket: DA16-45 at F4, ISO3200, 1/6th - solid (a bit slow) lock. Not bad for what some haters call (K-5) crap.... You know I favor DA16-45 over DA*16-50 :o), what a lens for $200.... Will try later the (reported) DA100 Macro WR, FA*300 F2.8 and some.. hope it helps you to decide if you want to update your K-5's FW or not. I'm leaving the silver limited on 1.03 just because...
I've decided to do a "Before" Vs "After" measurbation test shortly, once when time allows!

OP is assuming a lot (of nonsense rubbish).."They must have really messed up the SDXC driver in the code." .. ya, ya, sure...
So does this fix the K-r front focus problem?

I hope that it would make to show pictures faster in K5 because this is a pain, waiting 20 sec to see taken pics...
