Once again, as that happened for times in the past for Pentax, the excuse of "demand is more than expected" is used - Oh, no, that Typical Old Pentax comes back again! :-(
But how come they only know this when there is only a few days left for the original targeted on-sales day, i.e., May 20? :-0

Btw, as I have said, it looks like just an excuse to me.

You would have to be crazy to buy one of the first batches of the 645 - based on the initial QC of recent offerings.

They have always high and unexpected demand for great cameras and always have delays.

Compare to Apple's recent launch of IPad. If they waited to produce enough units to satisfy all pre-orders, there still would be none in users' hands.
No, something else is behind this delay. What has gone wrong is anybody's guess.

On the other hand we have Pentax. They supposedly have manufactured an initial supply of 645D's, right? But they won't ship/sell any until they can satisfy the demand? Baloney!
My guess is they have found a serious problem with this camera and are scrambling to find a solution. Time will tell - except there will be no news on this subject from Pentax, as usual.
