Canon/Sony Considers to Acquire Pentax??

CanonRumors has heard from a "good-source birdie" that both Canon and Sony are interested to purchase Pentax for some (maybe different) reasons! (via 1001 Noisy Cameras)

So, if that really happens, the brand Pentax will probably disappear, just like the fate of Minolta after Sony bought it! :-(

Btw, I had made the Canon-Pentax marriage long time ago, see this.

this won't happen...unless they are after the SMC lens coating(which really really works better than other coatings)...or the green button...or the noise reduction algorithms they used on the kx...or the camera filters....or pentax glass...

I don't believe the rumour neither. But anyway anything can still happen tomorrow! :-)

Though I don't buy this rumour for a second, one might argue, that Pentax doesn't have much else to sell technologywise than the image stabilizer system/patents, and since Sony doesn't really need it (unless it'd suit better their mirrorless designs), and since Canon has mocket in-body systems for years because they've invested heavily in in-lens designs... though, I must admit I would not mind having an image-stabilized canon sensored EVF/APS-C-pocket-camera. Won't happen thoug, I am afraid.
