I've seen many A77 samples, and I'm more convinced that something went very wrong either with the sensor or the engine in that camera. I really hope that Pentax (Ricoh) don't consider it for the next camera, as many have been wishing. I think that 16-18mp is well enough for a APS-C sensor.

I think the sensor used in the NEX-5N (which is the next generation of the present sensor used in the K-5) is just good enough.
It can be jpeg engine that causes so much detail loss at high ISO (don't see the difference at low ISO). So, IMO, this new 24Mp sensor is a failure.

No it is not jpeg, the pixel is just smaller as well as high iso dynamic range. 15 Mp is more than enough in aps-c cameras and allows to shoot quite good group portraits with good lens. But if you have enough light why not to use 24 MP. I am quite satisfied with K5/D7000 sensor and hope they stay in 16 MP range. Sony's 24 mpixel full frame is not noise free either.
